SISU is the extraordinary philosophy that has motivated the people of Finland for hundreds of years. There is no single English word that can fully express the spirit of SISU, but it is a concept we should all adopt as our own.

SISU is the determination to succeed against all odds, the refusal to accept preconceived limits or the possibility of failure. It inspires us to look within and find the energy and determination necessary to prevail. SISU is the source of both physical courage and mental resourcefulness, of both effort and invention.

Facing an unprecedented threat to our environment and collective well-being, we believe that SISU compels us to develop new sustainability solutions and engage the resources of business worldwide to implement these solutions and achieve long-lasting success.

Mission

SISU exists to enable companies of all sizes to plan and manage corporate responsibility initiatives that succeed environmentally and financially. We understand that financial success is essential to make any sustainability program sustainable over the long term.

Brendan Condit, SISU Founder & CEO

Brendan Condit is uniquely equipped to help companies of all sizes build sustainability programs that help strengthen their brands. He is an entrepreneurial and creative thinker with years of experience building and growing authentic brands.  Most recently, at Trove Recommerce, Brendan forged the world’s leading branded recommerce programs, with companies like Nordstrom, Eileen Fisher, REI, Arc’teryx and Patagonia. At Patagonia, working with top executives, Brendan created the original business plan for Worn Wear, the recommerce platform that has inspired so many others to see the value of recommerce as a strategy for both sustainability and brand-building.

Brendan‘s passion for our environment and the need to move toward a more circular economy inspired him to earn an MBA at Cornell’s SC Johnson School of Business. Brendan was a Park Leadership Fellow while at Cornell, where he studied with Mark Milstein, the director of Cornell’s Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise.  This is where Brendan recognized the value of building intelligent sustainability initiatives on a solid foundation of quantitative business analysis and focused brand strategy.

Brendan lives in Fort Collins, Colorado, with his wife and three children.  They are all dedicated adventurers in the Rocky Mountains.
